Mom Who Sends Her Teen To Prom With Her Friend Ends Up Receiving An Unexpected Call After 30 Minutes

 Josie Reason was on top of the world when her co-worker Christian asked her to come to his prom. Just like every other teenager she had her plans and dreams about the prom night. She started her preparation the very next day only. The girl bought herself a very pretty dress worth $400. Finally, the day arrived and the girl drove off to the venue with her friend Christian. Rebecca, Josie’s mom was very happy for her child and could not wait for her daughter to come back and tell her the stories. However, all her hopes and excitement came crashing down when she received a phone call just after some time her daughter bid adieu to her.

Knock! Knock!

Well, the story begins with a knock. Josie was relaxing at her home after a long day of work when she heard a knock. Initially, she ignored it but the thumping did not stop so she went to the door to open it up. She wondered who could be at the door as she was not expecting anyone. 

Josie Reason

Josie Reason, a 16-year-old teen was studying in high school at the time of the incident. The bespectacled girl belonged to Louisiana and was very close to her mother. The girl was also working along with studying. It is at work she met Christian who became a very good friend of hers.

Who Is That?

She opened the door only to see a pizza delivery guy standing before her. The boy had a box of pizza in her hand. She looked at him in confusion. Had she ordered a pizza? No, she had not. Perhaps, the guy had the wrong address. 

Pizza Here

The boy extends his hands to give her the box of pizza. However, the girl refuses to take it as she had not ordered any pizza. Despite his refusal, the delivery boy insists she keeps it. He asserts that the pizza was ordered by her only. Maybe someone was pulling a prank on her.  

A Mistake?

She told the guy a number of times that she had not ordered for any pizza but still he did not budge. He kept on saying that he was instructed to deliver a pizza to this particular address. Well, that was uncanny. Eventually, she takes the pizza from the guy. After all who will let the pizza go especially if that is for free.

From Who?

Why someone would order a free dinner for her? Was it her mother? She obviously loved pizza and only her near and dear ones knew about it. Well, she took it in and opened the pack only to find something more than just a pizza. It did not take her long to understand that this was all planned.

A Message

There was a message written inside the top cover of the pizza. She read the message and realized who had written it. This was something she had not expected at all. The message read, “I know it’s cheesy but prom.” Well someone had asked her to be her prom. Who could it be? 

A Promposal

It was Christian, Josie’s co-worker. His colleague had invited her to his prom. The duo had been working together for a long time now. They had become very good friends over time. Josie was happy on getting the invitation but at the same time she also had a doubt. 

What An Idea

Teens are known for their creative ideas and when it comes to ask out a girl for a prom date, they come up with some amazing ideas. The proposal should be as special as the prom night. Christian too wanted to make it special for Josie. He knew she like pizza and so she decided to propose her by treating her with her favorite food.

Different Schools

Both of them were studying in different schools. Whereas Josie was studying at a public school, Christian was a student at the religious Central Private School. Clearly, Christian’s school had more stringent rules about appropriate prom dress. However, Josie was not going to get her prom affected by that.  

Excited

She told her mom about her promposal. She was very happy as for the first time she was going to get a day full of glamour, fun and luxury. The prom was only a few nights away and she had a lot to prepare. First of all, she had to buy a dress.

Look Appropriate

Rebecca said, “Josie is pretty conservative, and since the prom was at a Christian school, she was concerned about looking appropriate.” Josie was aware of the strict rules and regulations of Christian’s school as they had discussed it a number of times at work. That is why she asked her mom to help her out finding the perfect dress for her. At that time, they had no idea how difficult was it going to be.

Search Is On

Josie started her hunt for the prom dress. She went to the market with her mother to find a dress for herself. However, it was not as easy as it seemed. To be honest, it was nothing short of a nightmare for them. Josie was going to be a part of prom for the first time and so she wanted it to be very special. 

Time Consuming

Christian’s school adhered to strict rules. She had to buy a dress that does not go against the rules of the church which was obviously difficult to find. Every dress they came across was very much risque. Some of them had low-cut end up revealing thigh splits.

Too Tough

Every dress Josie or Rebecca liked had slits, deep neck or back revealing. She even tried some of them to see if they were too bold but every time they would end up rejecting. And the dresses that were in accordance with the rules of the school were not so pretty. Josie did not want to ruin her prom experience.

Perfect Dress

It took them hours to search for the perfect dress. Rebecca said, “My only rule was to find a dress that could easily pass at church.” But they managed to find a pretty dress eventually. The outfit she bought had a high neckline stitched with a floor-length skirt. However, this dress too had a problem.    

Found It

Well, the dress was worth $400. There is no denying that the dress was quite expensive but she had decided to utilize it completely by wearing it one or two evenings. But that was not the issue, what deemed a problem to them was the design of the dress. 

Simple And Beautiful

The dress was not a plain and long one. It had cutout panels right above Josie’s waist. However, the cut out was covered with mesh. But Josie’s mom wanted to be assured before letting her go to the prom in that dress. 

Confirmation

Josie’s mom contacted Christian’s mom and asked her if the dress is appropriate. She sent her a photo of the dress. Rebecca recalled, “I texted photos of the dress to Christian’s mom to make sure it was decent and we could coordinate about the corsage colors.” “She agreed it was pretty.”

Seeking Approval

Both the ladies were on the same page about the dress. It wasn’t vulgar or bold. However, they thought of asking the school authorities first. Rebecca asked Christian’s mom to contact the school as she was still not sure if the school would approve of that.  

No Issue

Christian’s mom called in the school to ask as they did not want to take any chance. The school also gave their consent and said that they have no issue with the dress if the cutouts are covered with fabric. The school had given the green signal.  

Here It Is

Soon the much-awaited day came. Josie was very happy and excited. The girl looked very pretty in her long and floral dress. Everything was going great. Christian was on time to pick her up for the prom. He was wearing a white tuxedo and had rented a limo too. The night was getting more beautiful with every passing minute.  

Capturing Memory

They clicked many pictures together and then headed to the party in the limo. No need to say both of them were looking great. They were eagerly looking forward to the party. However, all their ecstasy faded away once they reached the venue. 

Waiting

Prom is the most awaited event of a student’s life. They spend many years imagining and planning for the day. Josie too had her plans. Her mother was very happy too. Josie was gone and now she was left all alone in the house. She got back to her daily chores as she knew she wouldn’t get time after Josie would come back and tell her about her day.

What’s The Matter

Hardly, an hour had passed by when Josie’s mom got a call. She picked it up only to hear someone cry on the other end. It was Josie. She could clearly hear her crying even though the girl tried to muffle her voice. She asked Josie what was the matter. 

Entry Denied

The school administrator had banned her from going inside because of the see-through cutouts on her dress. They suggested her to either don Christian’s jacket or buy a belt from the nearest Walmart. Well,both of the options did not make any sense to Josie and Christian.  

Choices Given

In Rebecca’s words, “She said, ‘Mom, they won’t let me in the prom because of my cutouts — I either have to wear Christian’s jacket all night or walk 40 minutes to Walmart and buy a belt.’” It was indeed unexpected as they had already confirmed it with the staff.

Guidelines

Wayne Cooks, the superintendent explained, “Central Private is a Christian based school and we have guidelines that we ask all our students and their dates to meet.” “No cut-outs that show skin in the mid-section will be allowed.”

Done On Purpose?

Rebecca also stated that the authorities did not let Josie in because she was not from Christian’s school. She explained by referring to Christian, “He said girls wearing more revealing dresses were allowed in and it wasn’t fair,” “I feel they treated Josie unfairly because she doesn’t attend Christian’s school,” doubted the mother.

Not Fair

Surprisingly, only Josie was told not to participate in dance when there were many other girls too who had not followed the dress code. Surprisingly, none of them were banned from entering the dance. This was unfair. Josie could not hold her tears as she had made so many efforts to not to violate the dress code.

Leaving Together

Christian was not going to leave Josie high and dry. He first tried to reason with the authorities but when he realized that they were not going to listen he left the prom with Josie. The couple planned to have dinner and watch a movie together.

Calling The Teacher

When Christian’s mother got to know about it, she immediately called the teacher. She told them that the dress had been approved by the staff. The teacher replied that she had talked to the wrong person and also that the school had nothing to do with the prom.

Another Plan

Rebecca hopped in her car and drove to the spot. She picked up the couple and they all did their dinner together. They watched a movie later. Even though the night was not how Josie had imagined, it was very much fun. She enjoyed it to the fullest.

No Restrictions

Even though they could not enjoy Christian’s prom, the couple had decided to have their time of life in Josie’s prom. As her school did not have as strict rules as Christian’s did, she was going to wear her dress without any restriction and fear.   

Precautions

The next time, Josie’s mother is going to take all the necessary precautions as she does not want her daughter or any other girl in the prom to go through the same. It is not only heartbreaking but discouraging too. Going on a prom is like a dream to teens and no one has the right to take that away from them.

A Package

Josie’s mom said, “I’m making Josie a ‘prom care package’ with a needle and thread, a marker, scissors, a measuring tape, and a belt.” She  concluded, “I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.”
