A Drama With A Happy Ending At The Skopje Zoo

 The mother of the little white-armed gibbon threw her little one into the lake.

Luckily, there was the zookeeper Zera Bekirovska who jumped into the water, even though her swimming ability was poor, and took out the barely alive cub. The director of the zoo, Kristijan Stamenov, and the veterinarian Vesna soon arrived, and after 40 minutes of resuscitation, they saved the little gibbon, which is 7 months old.

Now the little gibbon is taken care of by Zera who takes him home and feeds him and sleeps with him.

The cub is doing great and now behaves as if Zera is his mother and does not separate from her.
