22-Year Old Man Found a Baby Abandoned in a Trash Can, What he did with Him Will Break your Heart

A young Haitian man, Jimmy Amisial, took a leap of faith that changed his life forever. It was December 2017 when 22-year-old Jimmy, a student at Texas State University studying communication and electronic media, came home to visit his mom, Elicie, in Haiti during a study break. Little did he know that his life was about to take an unexpected turn.

Jimmy has always had a heart for helping others, and he had been volunteering at an orphanage next to his home since he was a teenager. On this particular visit, he had brought back presents for the children at the orphanage. He was on his way there when he came across a commotion near a trash can. As he made his way to the front of the crowd, he couldn't believe what he saw - a four-month-old baby abandoned inside the trash can.

"People were crowding round this [trash] bin and I heard them arguing about what to do with this tiny baby," recalled Jimmy. "Everyone was just staring at him - not a single soul wanted to help."

Without hesitation, Jimmy scooped up the baby and took him home to his mother, Elicie Jean, who is 66 years old. They washed, clothed, and fed the baby, whom they named Emilio, and then took him for medical help. The police launched an investigation to find Emilio's parents, but they were never traced.

With no one else stepping forward to help, a judge asked Jimmy if he would become Emilio's legal guardian. Despite being behind on his university fees and his family struggling to make ends meet, Jimmy couldn't ignore the feeling inside him that this had happened for a reason.

"I didn't have a dad growing up, and this poor child was facing a lifetime of instability and uncertainty," Jimmy explained. "Something inside was telling me that this had happened for a reason, so I took a leap of faith."

Since that day, Jimmy has been splitting his time between the United States and Gonaives, Haiti, where Emilio is being cared for by Elicie. Jimmy has been like a father to Emilio, who has now turned five years old and has started school. He is a bright and energetic child who loves music and dreams of becoming a musician when he grows up.

"I'm glad I got the opportunity to transform his life from being abandoned in the trash to being a wonderful treasure," said Jimmy with pride. "I truly do feel like a father, and I'm excited to put pen to paper and make Emilio my son. I just need to raise the money first."

Despite the financial challenges, Jimmy has applied to formally adopt Emilio. He is determined to provide a stable and loving home for Emilio, just like he would for his own child. He has been working hard, taking time away from his university studies to raise the money needed for the adoption procedure.

"I had to do what I had to do when no one else wanted to do it, and I'm so grateful for the past four and a half years," said Jimmy with a determined smile.

Jimmy's mother, Elicie, has been a pillar of support throughout this journey. She loves Emilio as if he were her own grandchild and has been taking care of him with all her heart. She is proud of Jimmy for stepping up to become Emilio's guardian and is hopeful that the adoption process will be successful.

"Mom loves him, the kids in the orphanage love him, and I love him as if he were my own. He really is a special little boy," said Jimmy with affection.

Jimmy's friends and community have also rallied behind him. They have organized fundraisers, spread the word about his story, and provided emotional support. Jimmy is touched
